Wellcome Collection

Life, death and almost everything in between is the concern of the Wellcome Collection, seen through a never ending array of exhibitions encouraging visitors to ponder their place in the universe. How life, art, science and medicine connect is what makes this thought provoking space so valued, structured around its two main exhibitions: Medicine Man and Medicine Now.

It was established in 1936 by Sir Henry Wellcome, whose own passion for medicine was the driving force behind him gathering over one million objects during his lifetime. The Wellcome Library forms an equally as large part of the collection, containing over 750,000 books in additional to a whole host of films, archive material and manuscripts.
