The London Silver Vaults

The London Silver Vaults is as famous for its antique silver as it is for its unique location. The underground market first opened in 1885 and was used to rent out strong rooms to house precious jewellery and silver. This later changed to become secure premises where silver dealers could ply their trade. The vaults have never been broken into, due to the incredibly thick 1.2 metre walls, and even a bomb falling onto the building above during WWII didn’t leave a scratch.

Every piece of silver you could imagine can be found in the marketplace, with specialists coming from all over the world to sell their wares. The authenticity of the products are never in doubt, and along with its unusual position it has become one of the most respected and visited silverware markets in Europe.
