Strawberry Hill House
Restored and reopened to the public in 2010, Strawberry Hill House was built in the 18th century and remains a prime example of Georgian Gothic architecture. Horace Walpole’s former home contains some wonderfully lavish interiors, with his bedroom being a particular highlight, along with the tented ceiling in the breakfast room and his famous study that saw him create ‘The Castle of Otranto’.
The beautiful shrubbery in the garden is a pure delight and the woodland trail is always a treat that the children cannot help but enjoy. The winding paths and romanticism of the garden of the five acres is full of enticing charm, with a history almost as rich as the extraordinary house itself.
