St Martin's in the Fields
St Martin's in the Fields is renowned for its inclusive, community orientated approach, which is seen through its vibrant English and Chinese speaking congregations. Its position in Trafalgar Square keeps it at the heart of social activities in London. The church is dedicated to Saint Martin of Tours and the building we see today was designed by James Gibbs between 1722 and 1726.
As you would expect, regular Christian services are held throughout the week and it continues to forge international links to help sustain its investment in social justice causes and help those oppressed or excluded from society. Choral and classical music also play a key role in the church’s history, proving particular popular around Easter and Christmas time.
