Saatchi Gallery
The Saatchi Gallery quickly established itself as a prime source for contemporary art in the UK, thanks to its lauded founder, Charles Saatchi, who opened the gallery in 1985. The idea behind its formation was to create a platform for new, exciting British artists, or for those overseas who have yet to find a footing in the UK.
It has had a profound influence on the UK art scene since it opened and has helped to increase public awareness of modern art. As a reflection of this, Saatchi handed over ownership of the gallery to the public in 2010, renamed as the Museum of Contemporary Art for London.
Opening Times: Open daily, 10am-6pm
