Houses of Parliament

The Palace of Westminster, or what is commonly referred to as the Houses of Parliament, has stood on the banks of the Thames in one form or another since 1016. It remains one of London’s most iconic buildings and the centrepiece for modern British politics and democracy. The stunning architecture marks it out from any other building in London and it has lived through fires, wars and countless other historical moments in the UK.

Visitors can pay to access certain areas of the building during set periods of the week, receiving audio and guided tours. If there is availability, they can also sit in the public galleries during Question Time, or when other sessions are taking place in the House.
