The Guards Museum exists to reveal the proud history of the Foot Guards and their four regiments; Coldstream, Grenadier, Scots, Irish and Welsh Guards. These make up the Monarch’s Household Division as well as the highly respected regiments of the Household Calvary, whose duty it is to guard and protect The Sovereign and the Royal Palaces.
Opened in 1988, it can be found in Wellington Barracks nearby to Buckingham Palace, and it retells the stories of the regiments dating back to the 17th century right through to the present day. The collection features a multitude of Guards uniforms worn during the ages, along with a host of paintings, artefacts, weapons, models and more.
