200 acres of wonderful green space signifies the home of Battersea Park, situated near the south bank of the River Thames. The park was opening in 1858 by Queen Victoria with the intention of creating a more gentle space in what was then known as a rough area of London. The Pump House gallery can be found here, as can Battersea Zoo, which hosts lemurs, pygmy goats and everyone’s favourite, meerkats.
You can hop onto a pedalo and calmly move across the boating lake, or take in the wonderful smells of the delightful walled gardens. The adventure playground features climbing frames and slides galore, providing plenty of distractions so parents can take a little breather, and there is space for the younger kids to stretch their legs too.
