Houses of Parliament
One of the most iconic buildings in London, the Houses of Parliament offers visitors a unique combination of one thousand years of history, modern day politics, and stunning art and architecture. On Saturdays and selected weekdays during holiday periods, audio and guided tours are available which include the House of Lords and the House of Commons as well as 900 year old Westminster Hall. Tours are in English and other languages, and pre-booking is recommended but not always essential. When the Houses are sitting, all visitors are welcome to attend debates and Question Time in the chambers, or watch a committee hearing. Places are allocated on a first come, first served basis. UK residents only can arrange a tour of Big Ben and the Elizabeth Tower through their local MP or member of the House of Lords.
